YEP- I GUESS. HAHA.

I don’t know man… You have labels stealing from you, promoters stealing from you, fans stealing from you, distribution “almost” stealing from you, now rappers are stealing from you? (Start tiny violin…. now)

Now seriously, I doubt there was some major plan to go in and jack a beat I paid for and recorded 3 years ago, but heres the point- there is most likely nothing I can do about it. In March of 2008 I put up a tiny peak (on mrjmedeiros.com) at what my new album “Saudade” was going to sound like. The lead track was called “Stronger Man”. I made it available for download to the very few people who had their eyes on it, it was a little secretive. I took it down along with a song called “So” to prepare for their official release in May. Since then it has been downloaded quite a few times and has been circulating word of mouth.

ANYWAY

Today I was told that a rapper, and Wu-Tang affiliate, “Trife Diesel” used my beat for “Stronger Man” on his debut album “Better Late Then Never”. The album was released in June of 2009 and it features Royce Da 5″9, Ghostface, and Freeway among others.

BEEF?

I don’t care, I just want my money back for the track I bought. Dudes rapping is not bad at all. I really don’t think there was a plan to do this. I also don’t think they would give a “BEEEEEP” knowing they did. The thought of me approaching them like “Yo Yo Yo, WUS GOIN ON WIT YOU JACKIN MY BEATS!!! “BEEEEEP” !!!!” just makes me laugh. It’s corny. Of course it’s only corny cus I dont have money to sue, couldn’t sue because the sample, wouldn’t know who to sue, and doubt they would be able to pay if I did, cus who’s making money????? I still haven’t seen a REAL dime since I started this rap game. SIDE NOTE: Think about this: The song “Constance”… the video alone has almost half a million views. If people just paid .50 cents for this song each, my career would be so much different. The amount of influence I could have in the market- maybe start a label, sign people I believe in etc. Most people have no clue about the financial status of independents, at all. They shouldn’t have to I guess- only if they are wondering why the radio and T.V. sounds the way it does. (I hear a small violin playing somewhere) Deep breath- ahhhhhhhhhh back to the subject. Sitting in the room I’m renting getting ready to walk to the post office to send C.D. orders, it makes me laugh to talk about beef. Beef? yes! I would love me some REAL beef- the fridge is DRY!

I try harder at not whining, I try harder at seeing things the way they are, I start to create the change within the world I actually live in, and I call up Stro the 89th Key to beg him to remake the song, cus I aint goin out like that, I aint going out like that- Man playing violin puts it down and says… HE AINT GOIN OUUUUT!
