MR. J. Music that has made it to the big (flat) screen.

Yes. Was excited to see that a French film I have a song in did very well and is coming to the U.S. on DVD- and with perfect timing! It’s a Christmas movie! The film “Un Conte De Noel” (A Christmas Tale) was directed by Arnaud Desplechin and features, among other stars, Catherine Deneuve, Jean-Paul Roussillon, and Anne Consigny. You can read all about it on IMDB . I haven’t seen it yet- but it was just ordered and I’m looking forward to witnessing how in the world they fit my (and Joe Beats) song “King of Rock Bottom” in it. I mean- how? Exciting. It is great to know that is was very well received in France and that it is gaining popularity here in the states. Don’t ask how I know but “Us” magazine gave it 5 Stars out of 5 in its newest issue- the one with all the Tiger Woods dramatics on the cover. I do not read “Us” magazine. They said it was “…a lush, insightful film filled with fabulous performances.” There is also a soundtrack to the movie that came out which features myself and Otis Redding. I mean- wow, I saw my name next to Otis Redding and was like- “This is how I am paid”- then forgot that I was broke…but quickly remembered when I went and got my mail.

Other Movies Featuring My Music

Why do I always feel this tiny weirdness saying “MY” music. I mean it is and it isn’t, I don’t know. Well, in keeping with the “Movie and Me” theme, there were two movies that came out in the last couple years that featured music from my former group “The Procussions”. Seemed like the popular track for cinema was our song “Little People” as it was used in both “American Gun” and “Rising Son- The Legend of Skateboarder Christian Hosoi” (which also has a soundtrack). With the sneak release of “Friends Enemies Apples Apples” (promoted only to fans for the time being) I hope it catches the eye’s of Cinema too! I might have a couple things brewing right now…might. Ha.
